Have a couple of ideas on tap ATM

I'm about to get my head gasket done soon. The guy is charging me $600.00 for the whole thing and that includes a new thermostat and a radiator flush. Getting to the real story here, I was thinking about doing a couple of extra things at the same time. I was thinking about installing a BBM, dual fans and an EL ECU to get the system working. AFAIK in theory this should work because I've been reading a couple of other threads about the different setups. I'm starting to ring around for some prices on those items and so far it's turned out to be harder than I thought.

I'm calling wreckers and spare part places from work (free calls, woohoo!) to get some prices and I only found 1 so far that can do me a BBM, he's charging $50.00 for it. Haven't started calling up on the ECU and dual runners yet but will start tomorrow. :s6: If anyone has these parts (pref. in Melbourne) send over a PM and give me a price and I'll see if I can do it!

I'm guessing that with all this I would receive some power increase and better fuel economy. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

I was wondering if there is anything else that I would need in order to get the whole setup (BBM, dual runners, ECU) working properly? Think I summed it up but need some FF reassurance here.

Thanks guys!

Peter

Re: Have a couple of ideas on tap ATM

So you....have the EF manifold/pump already??
Get an old shitty computer loom off him as well - you will need a few pins for the fan control into the computer plug.
It's an ED so should have provision for a knock sensor....got one? :)

Re: Have a couple of ideas on tap ATM

I haven't got the parts yet but am in the process of finding out how much they'd all set me back. I also don't have a knock sensor, didn't think of that one. I'm guessing that I should add that to the Christmas list along with the loom and others then.
