In the next month im goin to attempt to repair my Head Gasket. Ive got a copy of the tutorial from EAfalcon.com but i have a MPI engine. What i would like to know is

1. What is different and how to go about it
2. Can anyone tell me exactly what tools im goin to need in order to do this
3. How much are STD gasket kits and how much more for the AU kit and is it worth it?

not much difference at all, un bolt inlet & exh. manifold (leave all wires etc connected) & leave manifolds in car, un bolt p/s , remove rocker cover & t/stat housing, "time" engine (cam dowell pointing 90 degrees to the right as you look at it) remove tensioner (behind where p/s pump was) un bolt cam pulley but leave on chain, un bolt head, & the reverse when putting it back together. should go o.k. if you've got mechanical experience.

P.S. The workshop manuals allways make it sound harder than it actually is!!

a good set of sockets, extensions, unis's etc. and a torque wrench!
