How much from a EA I6

Hey guys,

No better place to ask...

How much power can be rung from a MPFI EA I6?

No forced induction, just the natural stuff.

I'm looking at my car and trying to work out where I can squeeze more balls.

The CAM is done, injectors, head etc all tweaked and modded (to an extent). Exhaust and Induction have been sorted too.

According to my (very) experineced Falcon mechanic I'll be looking at 130 rwkw with my latest bits and pieces. But how much more can I obtain without going turbo?

Will I have to start replacing parts that have already been modded (i.e. replace the CAM with something a bit hotter?)

I'm looking at the Saloon cars which compete around Aust. These things put ~160 rwkw. Yes they are limited in the mods but they have some mumbo.

Getting my car up to those sorts of numbers (and beyond) tho will be quite hard tho, new computer will help, but those and similar mods will probably mean a big cash outlay.

Well the DEV 5 kits push 180kw @ the wheels for a manual, so there's a fair bit more that can be done

Re: How much from a EA I6

Yeah I've read a little about that...

Looked at his Dev5a kit and what he lists isn't too far off from what I have already.

I'm missing the chip and the 'extensive' porting etc.

Is that the next step? They are pretty pricey mods...

the DEV 5's are Jim Mock Motorsport and will set you back around the 5 grand mark for the whole kit.

Re: How much from a EA I6

Dev 5 is about $5000
There seems so be a bit of controversy about how good these kits really are but im yet to see any proof either way! Some of the guys on here have these kits installed so you are best off speaking to them as they have first had experience. Cant remember who exactly tho
