I HAVE UP FOR GRABS A COMPLETE CONVERSION FROM A NC FAIRLANE. CONVERSION COMES WITH ENGINE WITH ONLY 190,000 KMS AND ALL ACCESSORIES SUCH AS ALTERNATOR, STARTER MOTOR, AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR, ALL SENSORS ETC, COMPLETE LOOM AND ECU, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND ASSOCIATED COMPONENTS. IN A NUTSHELL, THIS CONVERSION COMES WITH ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO CONVERT YOUR 6 CYLINDER TO A V8. THIS KIT WILL FIT INTO EARLIER MODEL FALCONS SUCH AS XA-XF
Its currently going for $580.. It sounds like its everything i'd need to convert the xf to V8, but it seems like quite a few kms on the clock.. which would be bad im assuming?
Whats some details that i could ask the owner to find out whether or not its worth it?
Also my car is carby at the moment, will it be a real big task to get it swapped over to EFI?
ALso what about the legality of the engine swap, would it ever get over the pits if the car got a yellow?:idk:
At 190 000? Good luck. I'd steer clear. You'll need an engineer's report in most states to fit it, and have to fit all the emission controls as well. You may have tools, skill and the time and money to complete the conversion, at which point you can afford to ignore old cynics
That's cheap. Farken cheap!
a 2nd hand auto trans is worth that much. Same with the A/C compressor.
If you have the money, but it anyway, you could always get the engine rebuilt.190k isn't thrashed, but it's not brand new, either.
It would get over the pits, if you basically converted the car to XE V8 specs, ie 4 wheel discs, v8 front end. Do a search about converting an XF to a V8, somebody wrote a really good thing on it about 6 months ago, tellng what to do with the heater hoses, cause they are different on XF's.

The majority of people converting XFs tend to use the Cleveland and yes there are modifications required to the hoses and the firewall, I was wondering - the windsor is physically smaller than the cleveland - so are those modifications still required?.
Being an XF you would use the 6 EFI's fueltank and pump setup and the rest would be a reasonably easy task to sort out if it was done as a total rebuild.
oh for f*ck sake, the damn thing aint for sale no more!
Bloody schiezen!!!!!
