Well im looking for a 14sec pass. a 14.99999999 is good enough.
A few rules
Must be Auto
no blowers/turbos/nitrous
no significant weight reduction (EL Fairmont)
Diff can go as low as 4.1:1
Im debating wether this would be at all achieveable without removing the head. I severly doubt it. However im basicaly looking at finding out whats the best approach.
Im assuming.
Extractors + 2.5" exhaust
Wade regrind. (possably quite a deal larger than 1004 / DEV4)
4.1:1 diff gears
and a port of some description would be requried
Even then, im thinking id be strugeling to make a 14.999
Ideas?

Without headwork?
Personally, I don't reckon you'll manage it while remaining with that auto. Perhaps if you put the T700 in that you were talking about before?
On the other hand, please prove me wrong

j/k mate. I reckon you'd get low 15s, Rollin I know is at 14.505 ATM, he has a manual and 3.9 diff. Qwikcorty I think is in the 14's as well, again manual and 3.45 diff.
You'd probably have to use AU head, ported to the shithouse and possibly bigger springs/valves even in that :s Also I suggest you look into a higher compression. Possibly you could look at running fuel alcohol (ethanol) although that might be going a little TOO stupid for your taste
But yeah, I can't see 14s with that auto....

the EL Faimont comes in around 1590kg so to match a EA-EB with a conversative 135rwkw (say cam, zorst etc) matched with only 1445kg curb weight, you would need roughly 149 rwkw to even negate the power to weight advantage of an early E series
In rollins 14.5 for example : 146rwkw and 1450kg so you'd be chasing 160rwkw not allowing for the 5 speed or the 3.9's to maximise the 1/4 mile run
You'd be needing some major head work and an aggresive cam, stall convertor ( of manual) to get close to those 160 odd rwkw
but ignition has run 14's in his auto v8 EL ghia, doesn't that give us auto boys some hope?
thats k&n, CAI, pacemakers, zorst and roller rockers on the 8, and with the Ghia 3.45 LSD, great time from the luxo with only 2k worth of mods but try that with only the i6 and i doubt you'd be getting 14's
