I'm absolutely stumped as to what it could be....

Guys bear with me as I try and explain this, it will be long, but its all important stuff relating to the problem:

Basically, my EF feels like its been shot out a slingshot. The thing has got serious power to it now. But believe it or not this may be a problem!

Since yesterday it seems to have some serious gear change issues - putting it into D and the first change will occur at about 3800-4000rpm - waaaay higher revs than it should ever get to (and no Im not just putting it flat to the floor, this is just normal driving!). It is revving up much harder and higher than ever before , and I honestly dont have a clue why.

I reset the ECu tonight and the problem is still there - 1st change in D tonight was about 3900rpm, and even a slight push on the accelerator resulted in it dropping back and absolutely hammering. Not something it would usually do unless I'm giving it a very hard time, which I wasnt.

So, can I please get some answers to these few questions, which may help me pinpoint whats going on?

* Are the bands in the EF gearbox adjustable? I have been told they aren't.

* Is there any way you can adjust the gear change timing yourself - i.e.
can I get it to somehow go back to normal?

I have reset the ECU, it only ever runs on premium and it does not get given a hard time very often (hardly ever in fact).

So any suggestions as to what I can do? If I cant find anything myself it will be going to a mechanic.

LOL I've done that too dont worry. I reset my ECU and when the thing was in power mode the thing bounced off 6k twice before it would change, even noticed a lil chirp into second. hehe
