Re: Injection or Carb?

Maybe BUT only because the efi system is a total piece of shit. The factory EFI manifold should give you a lot better low end torque with about the same top end hp. The factory vane airflow meter efi system is totally butch and changing to aftermarket will make the factory hardware work really well.

Re: Injection or Carb?

It's been my experience that injection can have much more potential. It will generally use less fuel to make the same power, and can be tuned for more situations than a carb. Not having worked extensively with the older XF injection, I can't comment on upgrading that. But IMO you should.

Re: Injection or Carb?

It'd have to be rigged to take injectors as well - just curious as to why you'd bother though? CFI is not really any different to a conventional carb; in my view it's basically an electric carby and not a very good one either!

Re: Injection or Carb?

mongrelEB,

As you know I wanna put the MPFI on.. but may not be able to get the cash till a week or so down the track.

Car is basically undrivable atm.. and i know where i can get an xf carby for 30bucks.. thinking i can attach the tps to that, let the comp handle the ignition side of things. Take the injection side out of the equation.

Well good luck eskyboi, personally reckon it'd be more trouble than it's worth. Will the carby bolt on? Also, you'll probably find it'll overfuel anyway due to the fuel pump producing too much pressure and flooding the fuel chambers.....
