I've been monitoring my fuel use lately, and ive found the im using about 15.5L/100kms with a mix of city/highway driving. This seems a bit high, but i'm not sure. Government fuel economy figures are 11.5 and 6.8 litres/100 in highway and city driving respectively. NRMA say expect 14-16 litres/100 km in town and 10.4 litres/100 km on the highway.

So which is right? Am I way out, or just average? I've also been running on premium exclusively lately, which always seems to dissappear from my tank faster then standard unleaded, anyone encountered this at all?

In my experience NRMA is way closer to real figures than Govt. 6.8l/100k is waaaaaay optimistic for a 4.0 engine lol!

should get 6.8L/100K
thats about what I get (6-7) on flat road @ 100/105 km/H (no hills that is!)

I get an average of 8-9 ltrs on a mix of city and highway driving.

my ef series 2 gets on avg. 11km/l on highway and around 6.5-7km/l around town avg driving for a moded car as you can imagine with cold air, large crow cam (2222519) extractors and 2.5 mandrel bent high flow system. never less than 96ron prem fuel.

not that hills make a difference you might put your foot down harder to go up but you save when you back off to go down so it would work out about the same. unless you only ever drive up ??????? ha ha... sorry had to say that.
