hey,
my 3.9 mpfi has sus injectors so im going with a set from an "el" along with the manifold, fuel rail, regulator etc etc has anyone had any problems with this conversion at all? just curious b4 i rush in.
Nope. Use an ED injector harness and you'll not have to change any wiring.
You do have a little pink wire at the front of the manifold, yes? Goes to the dizzy?
Also the EA plastic snorkel and the throttle cable won't fit

URGENT:
i really sort of have to speak to someone but ill try to explain to my best. sorry in advance for the length. i did the swap,(ef intake onto eb) u rekon an ed harness will work? i need to know tonite or tomorrow early afternoon if i need the computer from the ef to make the butterfly things open? i have my whole intake out and the ef sits perfect in place with about 2 thou clearance to the bonnet thats without any piping from the throttle body to air filter. the manifold i got has all wiring on it, but doesnt meet up with my harnesses. the coil matches up, i got all the hoses done the oil lines etc reshaped, but im kinda stuck, i have an auto eleky who thinks i should use the ef computer but he doesnt sound real sure. is there goin to be any problems having a 4.0 litre computer running my 3.9 engine but yeah the main thing is how the butterflys work, all icould see is the litle vacume type lines coming from the end. any help is greatly needed. please reply or phone me on 0417 356 671
You can't use an EF ECU. You can plug an EL ECU straight in. I take it you have the switch for the runner butterflies? Connect the red wire to a +12v and the green/purple wire to pin 15 on the ECU. Shouldn't have any issues with a 4.0 ECU on a 3.9
ED wiring loom will work, you will need to lengthen a few wires however. The car will run with the ED ECU and EF manifold.
switch? i dun think so. just on the front end theres a spring loaded lever it has the " vacume " type lines. but seems to be noting electrical involved, i must b missing sumthin. why does el make a difference from ef? im not sure i can get an el computer tomoro my wrecker mate only have ef there i think. p.s how can ed work if that model didnt have the " snailshell" intake?
p.s if this does work out i spose a good tune up would be the go too. will the timing be out or anything because the ef spark leads would be different wouldnt they? i am usin my eb ones, will this affect anything? wheres the best place to go for a tune in brisbane southside? any ideas?
so if my manifold has ef harness hanging off it and i go and buy the el computer will i need el harness or the ef one will work?. oh, probly sound dumb but whats vss?
vss.. the vacuum solenoid switch that operates the BBM .. It is located near the washer bottle on the EF/EL's .. you need one of those puppies to change from long/ short etc when the RPM is up
The EF loom your talking about could not possibly fit with the EB coil...
THe EF uses a coil pack and a 100 pin ECU, EL reverted to the standard coil and 60 pin ECU
Your best bet is too use your EB loom and a EL ECU, is the EB smart lock? or series 1?
