I have been reading countless post about the newly developed Jim Mock kits, and I have found it easy to get power figures of the cars from the mock dyno, however, I have not seen any mention of Torque figures.

Can anyone provide me with some more information on these kits??? Torque increase, or post kit dyno reading. Could you please include additional details of the car, eg. Tickford motor, diff ratio etc.

I would also be interested in any 0-100 times done, or better still, a 1/4 mile time.

Oh, and what�s the standard max torque for a EF/L Tickford I6?

Hey Simon,

I wouldn't have a clue with the Torque increase of my Dev3.

On the Mock's dyno my car (I6 with 3.45:1 LSD) achieved 142rwkw. (I must stress.. on Their Dyno!)

It has SOO much pull from 3-5 thousand revs. As expected with anyother headers/cam set up (similiar to that of Herrods)

I'ld say its about 0.6-0.8 seconds quicker for 0-100. "YLDSIX" has timed his dev3 and achieved 7.2 second (XR engine).

BTW.. standard max torque for Tickford 6 is 366Nm (EF/EL XR6)

0.8 seconds quicker to 100 is a pretty good improvement for a cam and zorst upgrade.

Grunt51 might be able to help me out with torque readings?

How were these times done? using the speedo and a stopwatch? If so it's rough as guts and not worth anything. Im sure Mock will be about to provide information on 1/4 mile times and torque figures. Like I have said before 30% more grunt at the wheels from a 3.9lt six then my 5.0lt Windsor which has pacemakers, exhaust and K&N is pretty damn impressive thats for sure.

Torque readings at rear wheels are a directly inline with the Kw figure, more KW more torque.....as KW is just a maths figure made from torque....So yes, more torque

Also, they make their power without revving the snot out of the motors, so torque must be big. To boost Kw figures you "can" just shift the torque curve up the rev range because 400Nm at 7000rpm equates to more power than 400Nm at 4500rpm. This is why little 4 cylinder motors can make decent power even though their peak torque is only 160Nm (because they rev to 8000Rpm).

Just wanna know if the engine sound has changed since you put the Mock Kit into the car.

My neighbour has an EA and has transplanted a brand new EL XR6 engine into it. The engine has stock internals except ported and polished heads, a different cam, sport exhaust & pacemaker headers. The car is running no air cleaner and no piping from the throttle body. Was in the car last night while he was driving and it sounded as if it had a turbo in it. Kept on whilstling as you pushed the accelerator. Know anything about it??

Yeah thats exactly the same thing I said to him when he popped the bonnet. But I don't think that could be the cause of the whistling noise could it??

As soon as he took off I thought he had a turbo in it.
