Number one after checking the level, and as the sender and gauge are electronic in operation, is to connect a reliable pure mechanical gauge to the engine in place of the sender unit. Start the engine and see if you get, at a minimum, 350 kPa or 45 psi (in the old money) at about 2,000 rpm with a warm engine. Only think about hitting the panic button if you don't get something like the above figures. Getting to the sender is a bit of a pain, but it can be made easier by removing the oil filter temporarily.
Yes, it may be the oil pump, but it also may be a blocked filter or a stuck open oil relief valve, and that's a sump off, unfortunately. But try everything else first. Oil pumps don't usually give a lot of trouble.
