Ive been having problems with my fuel consumption, like real bad chewin... i was in the process of swaping my MAP from me EB xr6 to me mates EB Gli, and i realised there different MAP's, mine looked brand new but it had a different part number and different shape to me mates... i had no idea they had different MAP's so i just put mine back in, Lane Ford charge $190 for a brand new one, what to do???

i would be surprised if it is the map sensor as they are pretty reliable, better off checking that the vacuum hose from the inlet manifold to the sensor hasn't split which is something there known for, check at the manifold fitting first

The map sensors are essentially all the same, I've got a spare you can have for $50 if you are interested

so these are the same from CFi to MPFi?

I am not familiar with the CFI system so I would not like to say, but I would guess at NO. But the ED2 - EL are definitely the same.
