Im looking at getting one of my mufflers replaced with a straight threw pipe the exhaust is standard (recently replaced by former owner) so i dont won't to replace the whole system (its a waste considering its so new) which muffler would be the best one to remove and how much should it cost to get it done at muffler place.
Any ideas much appreciated
umm. Cost should be max of $50, but i wouldent reccomend you remove any muffler at all.......... Sorry but you wont be happy with that sort of mod

I have removed the main muffler in my EL XR6 and replaced it with the standard straight through 2 1/4inch pipe. Sounds very very very raw and racey (rAcey)
The std xr exh.is 63mm - 2.5 inches, So u have removed the 10x4 box correct

Exhaust Technology built it, It starts with std pacemaker extractors with a walker (400 cpi substrate) cat so it cant be classes as a high flow cat , because a majority of cats sold are sold as high flows but need to have a lower cpi rating to work better eg 200 cpi
2.5 in full mandrel bent, with 2 walker race resonators and twin stainless tips to finish it off.
Goes well, but sounds nuts lol. Its awesome

ok if i had to remove a muffler i would take the large centre one. I would replace it with a correctly sized fibre glass packed straight through design depending on how loul u like it, the FGP will remove the barky sounds and still provide a tough note.The rear section is commonly avail in a plain pipe with no mufflers or resonators in it at a reasonable price

Yeah ok i will tomorrow with my mp3 recorder, dont want to wake the neighbours tonight lol.
Oh yeah it is fairly droney and viabrates the interiour light at crusing speeds, so its not for the self concious
