Hi All,
I have a 6cyl EB with CPI . I thought it was a timing problem but it seems not i set up the timing in accordancewith pas instructions from you guys and i have had a play with it advanceing and retarding it. i have got it to a point where i can drive it ( i would not take it to far though) but i keeps back firing (i think ) but it is not really loud you notice that there is no powere more than the noise when i move the dizzy it gets better / worse and that is what i mean by i have sort of got it to a point where i can drive it.
if anyone has any ideas or can hellp me at all i would really appriciate it . even if some one wants to earn a few bucks and see if the can sort it for me

Check you have fuel pressure. You fuel pump may have failed.

Also check Map sensor's vacume line is still attached

How much fuel is it using is it running rich?

What's it's history? Did it start the problem in one day, or was it a gradual thing over time? How long since it's last service?

Is it backfiring from the manifold, or the exhaust?
