i want to put a new cam in my 4l i6 xh ute and have some questions which i hope someone can answer

1. will an elxr6 cam work ok without ecu in a single intake xh. the el has dual intake runners.

2. if not what will work ok?? i can get an elxr6 cam for 170 bucks and don't want to spend 4-500 on a crow/mock cam at this stage.

3. what are the specs for an elxr6 cam??? vs xh ute

someone help as i hear different things from different people. some say the cam wont work because of no ecu, some say the dual intake runners in the el means the cam wont work in the ute??

if anyone knows where i can get a cam that will lift the performance a bit and is cheap let me know. i'm not after a massive performance jump at this stage, just a bit extra.

Hey dude.

The cam should work fine in your car. There will obviously be an increased gain from the cam if you had the XR ECU and the manifold, however, its should still give the car some extra grunt.

Also, any intake or exhaust mods will complement the cam nicely.

At $170, I'd go for it.
