I've been thinking that it's time to replace the headlight assemblies on my EF. The current ones are going a strange yellow colour, and are really beginning to look quite shite. Really brings down the look of the car.

I'm wondering if there are any type of aftermarket, or just some nice tidy looking assemblies that anyone knows of. I'd be looking to replace the assemblies only of course. No XR-light conversion or anything. Just something to "spruce" up the front of the car headlight-wise without being over the top.

Can you get clear-type headlights (like on say, the BA)?

Someone on here cleaned up their existing headlights, with something, I don't know what, but it would be cheap and defintely worth looking into.

Using the window cleaner on the inside, do you mean that the back of the assembly comes off?

There is a highly detailed thread floating around here somewhere on how to do it with the correct grade of wet'n'dry sandpaper etc - try searching for "yellow headlights".

Also a bloke told me just to use normal cut & polish. I'm not sure how much of the problem is on the inside of the lens but it certainly affects the outside.

LOWAU - for your info, instead of using quotation marks put the address in and brackets. That makes it a hyperlink & then we can click on it rather than copying and pasting the address.

Another trick is to do it like this:
