I just got my hands on a older style 12 inch Davis Craig thermo fan and am now wondering if I replaced the clutch fan with this thermo would it be able to keep my NC cool enough? All the underbonnet aircon stuff is long gone so I would think it would be a bit easier to keep cool?
Not real sure about this one. The factory fan is probably a larger diameter, and the shroud will have been designed for it. So I'm not sure whether a single fan will do the job. Make sure you still use a fan shroud as this will pull the air through the radiator most efficiently. Will probably take a fair bit of fiddling to fit the thermo though.
Just keep the old fan and clutch in case it doesn't work out - u can always change it back!
yeah single 14" should be ok, assuming cooling system is in good nick, as it roughly same size as clutch fan, i would look to attach it to the existing shroud if possible for maximum cooling effect, or find a fan that fits nicely.
