one-piece rear main seal? - Ford Forums

Does such a beast exist? If so, can it be installed without major (preferably no) modification?

My brother currently has his crankshaft hanging below the block waiting to replace the rear main seal and we were hoping to find a one-piece to stick in it (hoping to eliminate future leaks).

If we have to go with two-piece seal, any tips or tricks to make sure it's successful?

Use Gasket Goo (that's the name); it comes in an orange tube and is a hardening gasket sealant. Also useful for fixing water hoses etc.

Ok... use Gasket Goo with- or in place of- the rear seal?
