hi im new here,ive been reading ff for ages so i thought id join up,its a great site! anyways ive recently accquired an ef xr6 and ive rung up about putting pacemakers on it.the guy says the normal ones give power across the rev range but he says the tuned ones give mnore power higher in the revs.which do you guys think are the better choice,has anybody had any experiences with them.any input would be greatly appreciated

I'd go for the "normal" ones- increase across the rev range. This means you gain torque throughtout the rev range, rather than losing some at the lower revs to gain more at the top. If you think abotu it like this it makes sense...
Its a street car with an auto- it has a tall 1st gear. This means that a great deal of time is spent in the lower rev range, even during a maximum acceleration run. It also means you don't have to rev the guts outa it to get good performance.
If it was a track or drag car with shorter gears, then the engine would be at high revs almost constantly. This is where the benefit of the tuned system comes in because little if any time is spent at lower revs where there would be a loss of torque.

i have got pacey tuned length, and a friend has a nl fairlane with the same... i am very happy with them. I am sure the std paceys are better than stock headers...

No such thing as a dumb question in my opinion...and this is what the forums are for- finding stuff out. The only reason i know what i said is because i read alot of stuff on here and participating in convos n askin questions. Don't be afraid!

I like the tuned length PH4480's they worked well on the AU.

I have the before and after dyno in the gallery to prove it.
