Does anyone one know how much it will cost me to buy a pod airfilter for my EF Fairmont. Can anyone recomend a particular brand or any outlet stores in sydney?

Don't waste your time if you haven't got a proper Custom Air Intake made up. If you choose not to go that extra length of making a CAI, just buy a quality panel filter (K&N for example).

I'll have to agree with Xrated. I put a pod filter on my EA and just left in the hot engine bay. All I got from it was a slightly better engine noise. So get a K&N panel filter. but if your going to made up proper Ccstom air intake then go for the pod filter...

do the panel filters actually make a noticeable differnece in terms of power? do they even make an induction type noise?

Pod filter in my EA with EF airbox (pod lived in airbox) with 3in piping to factory scoop bit on Radiator (slighly modded with a hacksaw) saw a noticeable difference in both power and economy (only slight)

one thing it did do was allow the thing to rev much better. And it sounded bloody horn (especially when i left the lid off....occasionally would sacrifice the grunt for the sound)

Am undecided what to do with my EL. Wanna keep it looking factory.

I had a Simota Pod filter on my old EL XR6 and all it did was make it sound abit better, from idle it had a notciable "sucking" sound and from around 3k to redline it sounded shit hot. No power increase was evident and I knew there wouldn't be I just put it on for the sound.
