i dont want to have to change the tranny or anything... AU motor sounds like a prick to adapt... is the 4.0litre off say an EB just a drop in?
thanks,

Yes, an EB 4.0 will drop straight in and will have no problems with the 3.9 computer.

The starter motors are fully interchangable, and you don't have to use an AU transmission.

hmmmmm... is the AU motor THAT much better... 4.0ltr EB i think will be enough... not to worried about much performance gain... just build a nice strong motor as a project...
cbf with computer change and looms etc,

Re: project motor: 3.9 or 4 litre? into an EA
go the au motor. much stronger bottom end. i'm almost finished my conversion, another two evenings and it'll be done.its not hard at all. use an au bellhousing, ea starter. when i finish i'll do a full write up on what has to be done/used.
