hey guys me trusty 250 has developed a rattle only started today the engine isnt standard running a stage 3 cam and the heads been done
the sound is coming form inside the engine and its like a rattle ticking sound my g/f's dad rekons it may be a lifter any suggestions

If it's a really regular tick it might be a lifter. If it's more of a vibrating rattle might be a broken head bolt.

And there I was thinking if you could hear the lifters rattling everything was ok. Just start worrying when they go quiet.....



But yeah. sounds like lifters. use a lump of wood as a sounder and try to find out where the sound is located.

well the rattle wasnt there today and i have been told that it is a dicky lifter will have a look anyway
