Hey all,

Could someone tell me how to reset the computer in my 97 EL Falcon GLi?

For the purpose of resetting to take in data after fitting extractors and forced cold air.

I know it's more of an electrical question, but its in regard to an earlier post about installing extractors and other mods.

Basically all you have to do is disconnect the battery ( i usually leave it about an hour )

yep, just disconnect the battery, when i put my 3" intake on my car would keep stalling untill i reset the computer..

a quicker way is to disconect the pos on the battery, tap the turn on ign and tap break.

This will drain all power out of ecu so it will reset itself.
Reconnect, it will take a little while for it to run good again but it will.

After disconecting the battery, turning any of the accasories on will drain it pretty quick.
I usually leave mine off over nite.

so d/c the pos+ from the battery and put ur key onto acc?

There is a sequence to stop the bastard from stalling when you spin the wheel after resetting the ECU

I saw it somewhere on a forum - its like running A/C for 2 mins then something else for 2 mins etc etc

hey all i reset my computer today been drving for about an hour and everytime i get off the accelerator to slow down the bastard wants to stall if i dont put my foot slightly oin the accelerator and the little battery light comes on in dash ,
should it be doing this still even after a good hour or so of driving it idles ok now and then but when i back off and the revs drop shes dies
