Rev limiter on BA XR6 non turbo.
What revs does a not turbo Xr6 falcon peak at.

6,000 RPM in drive,reverse and park(auto)
3,000 RPM in neutral (auto only)
6,000 RPM for manual

So for Exhaust noise testing where they rev to 2/3 of the maximum permitted RPM it would have to be in park?

I don't like the idea of revving in park. Is that an unfounded feeling or?

Good point.Maybe if your BA was too loud and had to be tested you could leave it in neutral and tell them"sorry mate, wont go over 3,000 revs while its sitting still".

rather rev in park than neutral for fear of dropping into drive. this has happened before

Try it.(if you dare)You'll find in the BA's,it wont select drive until the revs die down.
