Rocker gear differences - EA/EB2/EF
Umm, basic summary, I occasionally get really bad lifter noise, and I am also getting a shocking rattle from the top of the engine, which I am 99% sure is coming from the rocker gear.
So, rather than trying to do individual lifters, I was going to just replace the whole rocker gear.
Can anyone recommend which direction to go in? I have an ef rocker cover in the shed which I can put on, and i was planning (as a first step) of going to an ef camshaft, but for the time being, keeping the standard ea head. I don't really want to pull the head off till I have to.
Is there in fact much difference between lift rates and such or is that mainly controlled by the cam?
I'm a little under water with this, as I don't know too much about cams and stuff.
Any help would be appreciated.
