Just wanted to know if anyone could tell me about
the v6 capri Rs 3100. Coz I heard they were built with 400bhp
is this true.

The roadgoing RS3100 gave 148 bhp, however the race engine as fitted to Zakspeed Capris gave around 415 bhp.

Race spec engine:

Essex 3.1-litre, OHC, fuel-injected V6, 11.0:1 compression ratio, (300kW)400bhp @8000rpm. Dry sump, twin radiators, Bosch Transistor ignition.

0-100km/h 4.2secs, 0-200km/h 13.1secs, top speed 280km/h

Actually this Essex motor was 3.4 litre and quad cam, belt driven. It's output was 440+ BHP. Only four track cars were ever built by the Cologne factory. Three survive, one in NZ, Moffats old car, Tom Walkinshaws and one in a museum at Cologne. The fourth one was written off in an accident many years ago!
