Setting base timing on 89 EA 3.9 MPFI

Hi, I recently picked up a EA Falcon-S after I wrote off my 93 EBII. With the EB I used to bridge/short out 2 pins on the diags connector under the dash near the fusepanel (the 2 pins to the left).

With the EA it doesnt have the same connector, it has something similar located in the engine bay under the brake booster, how do I go about it using this connector?

Also... to get the error codes I used a similar process with the eb using a test lamp, how do you do that with the ea?

Cheers again,

Brett

Negative lead of test lamp to terminal 4 of output connector.
Positive lead of test lamp to positive battery terminal.
Connect one end of a jumper lead to terminal 2 of the output connector and the other end to the Self Diag input connector.

Just to add, those instructions are to read the error codes from the ECU.
To do your base timing you just need to earth the input connector before you use your timing light.
You only have 2 minutes to do the timing, if you need more time switch the ignition off for 15 seconds and the try again.
