Hi just wondering which are the best srark plugs for fuel economy.It seems that changing plugs varies fuel economy.If anyone can help out that would be great.

Ah, i think you'll find many people have many different opinions on this.

Personally I think a spark plug is a spark plug - doesnt matter if you spend $5 or $50 on each one, they all do the same job, they all wear out and they will all at some time need replacing.
I know Jim Mock claims that his plugs combined with a set of the leads he uses produces more power on a dyno, however i dont know or see how this could make any real difference to economy.

I am stumped on this one because after installing different spark plugs fuel economy has changed significantly enough for me to ask for help on this.cheers

Hi svo ...when I bought my au 3 months ago i was getting 380 -400 km out of a tank.So I bought ford spark plugs from ford.(with the logo)got 450 km average out of a tank!!!For the sake of experimenting I went back a few weeks later and got the ford /denso plugs and retained the fuel ecoonomy with a bit more torque.Wierd thing is that I didnt expect this to happen..extra torque????So I got greedy and went to champion plugs,this saw my economy go to 360km on a tank??????3 weeks later I went to bosch plugs and I am now getting 390 km on a tank..???This is why im wondering if anyone has had a similar experience as mine and if so what appeared to be the best possible plug for economy and power??I was shocked to really see the differences.

I actually had the work done here in SydneyJim sent them down to me.But yer why not ..good suggestion.Thanks for that.After the good turn Ihad with the exhaust ,indeed I should give him a call....and you know what? I will let you guys know what differences I will see with those too!

I believe it mate, Cleaner burn maybe.
I do know however that if you were to index your plugs & have them pointing at the exhaust valve its worth afew kw to you strange but it works.
Personally i use Iridium plugs, expensive but IMHO work!!!!

Man thats interesting .How do you mean though have them pointing to the exhaust valves?and indexing them??Do you mean keeping the gap side facing the exhaust valve??
