Stalled, bugger

Hi
I have an XH falcon ute which stalled on me the other day going around a roundabout. It has sputtered a few times before, especially turning right at low speeds. The steering gets heavy and then gooonnnee.... It is also a bit hesitant when accelerating and i have to reset the accelerator to make the thing go.

Can anyone give me some starting points, as i can't find a mechanic who knows their stuff.

cheers

Re: Stalled, bugger

What do you mean by "reset the accelerator". Is it going over centre or something. Sounds like it could have something to do with the throttle body, ISC motor or something [make sure control wire is connected properly]. Other things is to look at the MAP sensor tubing - could be cracked and leaking air, distributor modulator is a common thing, fuel pressure (something to do with the pump [could be something to do with going right] or fuel rail regulator). MAP sensor, oxygen sensor and the rest might control the ISC motor and send it stupid and hence why you have to reset accelerator?? Im not sure. Its hard to tell, a great thing is to borrow a diagnostic tool and hook it up to your computer and it will tell you of any crook sensors - and if it doesnt give you a message, youd hope that it must be something simple.
