Well if you have fabrication skills, or know someone who can do you a custom manifold for a decent price then i guess you could try it. Remember though that the $8k capa kits contain every single bit you need, such as the pulleys, hoses, belts, extra injectors, chip, proven performance + reliability and a guarantee. The extra $ you pay are for piece-of-mind that what you have is a well sorted set-up. I believe the actual blowers themselves from the kits are only worth around $2k?
When i said it had been done before, i made a mistake, it wasn't an eaton, it was a GM old-style supercharger (not a 6/71!, but you know the ones). I guess same shit different bucket though.
