Hey everybody.

I got a Falcon EB I6 t5 with exhaust and custom air intake, and soon to have headers, cam, and short shift kit put in, I was searching around ebay and came across some superchargers and was wondering if it was possible to put eaton type superchargers, say off a merc or holden on my falcon. It has been done, with the blower mounted on it's side (on the intake side of the motor) rather than horizontally as on the commodores. It'd be a fair bastard of a job to make up the new intake manifold, and brackets to hold the thing in place under load. I don't have pictures but someone else here might. Benefit would be heaps of instant power off idle/huge amount of torque (how much depends on the blower). You'd be better off getting a Powerdyne or Vortech/Paxton blower as sold by CAPA for the sake of being easier to set up (and probably much cheaper?). They make more top end, (i think) but don't have the same power off idle because being centrifugal (or is it centrifical?

) they have to "spool" i guess the word is, in a similar way to a turbo.

Yeah i know it'd probably be hard to do and stuff, but the thing is off ebay you can get these things dirty cheap, for around 3-6 hundred dollars instead of cappa at 8k.

Well if you have fabrication skills, or know someone who can do you a custom manifold for a decent price then i guess you could try it. Remember though that the $8k capa kits contain every single bit you need, such as the pulleys, hoses, belts, extra injectors, chip, proven performance + reliability and a guarantee. The extra $ you pay are for piece-of-mind that what you have is a well sorted set-up. I believe the actual blowers themselves from the kits are only worth around $2k?

When i said it had been done before, i made a mistake, it wasn't an eaton, it was a GM old-style supercharger (not a 6/71!, but you know the ones). I guess same shit different bucket though.

what about turning an ea cfi manifold into a blower manifold

It would still be a big job fabricating the mounts and adapters to fit the engine.

Someone had one setup on a Ef, I think it was a Yella Terra. Just can't think of who it was at the moment.
