Anyway, i wanna spend some time doing sume stuff on my car.
I have extractore/exhaust, cai, stg3 crow cam/valve springs/chip.
Goes ok but im wanting some head work done to finish it off.
After head work I think I will leave it at that.
This is what im looking at doing to the head: Shave(40 thou)
Port(390hp)
polish and swirl chambers
3 angle seat
angle off valves
thin gasket from jmm.
Does thin sound ok?
Also getting throttle body machined bigger, oh yeah.
There is some other stuff but just can think now, but you think it will work ok, trying to get everything to match and flow simular.

Sounds all good, should be a very impressive result keep us all posted with piccies :), mock just uses the au steel head gasket as it is better and slightly thinner.
keep in mind that most development with this motor shows almost no power increase in uping the compression ratio.
The head porting will make the most differance provided it's done correctly.

the higher compression dosnt really help power,
but you do get improved fuel economy, and mid range torque, due to the better fuel burn you get.
an interesting note, you take compression to 12.5 to 1 on these engines you actually loose 15 percent in power!!!!!
its to do with the compression offsetting the mechanical advantage of the stroke, when the piston is travveing up the bore.

yeah should be fine but I don't think you will end up with 10:1 because porting the swirl chamber will lower it a bit.
Don't aim for changing the compression ratio if it happens it happens.
aim for getting the best possible flow from your head and you'll be laughing.
Keep in mind though your ecu will freak out and the car may have idle problems once this is done.
May need to invest in either a eec tuner or a chip of some kind.

I gotta chiptourque chip.
They told me to give them a ring after i get the head done and tell them the flow and comp and they will reprog the chip for $100.
