when i first start my xf there is no noise, but after ive been driving for a while it starts tapping. ive got a set of new lifters for it but i got told if i put new lifters in i should do the cam aswell. would it hurt that much to put the new lifters in?

New lifters can go with an old cam but eyeball the lobes first.

Are you sure it's the lifters tapping & not the charcoal canister purge valve touching the chassis on the passengers side of the engine bay? I'm speaking from my experience...

i put a thicker oil in and it seemed to settle the noise down a bit.

this company nulon make a product called Lifter Free. its like a lube and works a treat.

my ea is tick free now

was bloody happy it wasnt permanent damage though

my lifters cost me $75 for 12. where can i get that lifter free stuff from?
