Terrible day - Mpfi Conv

Ahh im having such a bad day i need to vent. I started the conversion this mornign and things went downhill from there.
I snapped off the white plug with the brake booster hose etc... i snapped my socket adapter trying to get the metal thermo pipe off
and Ive been bashing the fuel pump ring for an hour and it wont budge a cm

Sigh!
Ive had to call out lube mobile to try and help!

Re: Terrible day - Mpfi Conv

damn that's bad luck dude.

I'm guessing you've tried a big flat head on the fuel pump locking ring ? Good luck getting it sorted. I know my brother and Sundeep had a few problems when they did the MPI on my EA, they eventually got it sorted with the help of an Auto Electrician..

anyway, hope you get it sorted easily and cheaply.

Re: Terrible day - Mpfi Conv

isn't there a but clamp on the outside of the locking ring you have to take of first, they put it there to hold the fuel tank in from the factory while putting it together ,i think you take that off first then bash the locking ring

Re: Terrible day - Mpfi Conv

smash the metal ring off with a hammer, then use a BIG flathead screwdriver to unscrew the top.
