With the V8 EB, the airbox hose to engine comes from the top of the airbox. I have been thinking of mounting a pod filter on some alloy, using the seal from an old panel filter to insert into the box.

Has anyone tried this?

If I haven;t expained well enough let me know

hmmm ... obviously didn;t explain myslef clearly.

Before I try and do this again, what is the difference between putting in a K&N panel filter to replace the current one, and using a Pod type filter?

IMO, the pod is annoying and fiddly to mount, and will possibly end up with you sucking in hot air, while the panel is a drop in installation, and will yield similar results.

I'd just get a panel filter, and look at a alternate intake scoop (I *think* you can get a later model one or something that is larger and probably on $30 - try a quick search on it).
