hey everyone, was just wondering if an au falcon or xr6/8 or any other models came with a bigger throttle body??? i wouldnt mind getting a bigger throttle body but too save money i would rather buy a standard ford item, capa wanted about $700 for a throttle body upgrade on my ea, i have no idea what size it was, they didnt seem to give too much info about it. if any one knows what model falcon came with a bigger throttle body and what size it is this would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Ehab

'GM Destroya' is boring out the standard TB's to 68mm and only charging around $75 or so exchange.
He's making me one as we speak.
There is a thread kicking around here somewhere about it.
Rick.

What's that?..... Did I hear you say TQE power?
Is there any advantage to getting a bigger throttle body on a std engine?? If so is it a big gain or just not really worth it unless you start doing big engine mods...
I doubt there would be any gain on a standard engine as they are limited by camshaft, head, etc.
I think you'd need to be producing 150rwkw+ to see any increase.

I can see how this would be beneficial at full throttle but guys wouldnt this sort of stuff up part-throttle conditions because doesn't the TPS help determine how much air is going into the engine - and if you have a bigger/bored out TB then it will be like the throttle is open wider than the TPS think it is - hence stuffing up part-throtle mapping slightly???
it might cause pinging from leaner A/F ratios, or stuff up fuel economy etc - I dunno...
I'd say it might only be a slight problem, if it is indeed a problem at all, but have you considered that?
I'd much rather spend the money on something more useful like head work or soemthing....especially if you were considering paying the $500 or so!!!
