hey
is it possible that a throttle cable can be broken because my EBII doesnt pick up straight away when i press the throttle
like when i first press the throttle it doesnt do anything so i squeeze it just a little bit more and BOOM it picks up
could there be something wrong with the throttle cable or is it just the way the car is?
thanks
Daniel

its easy to check, although a two man job,
with the car switched OFF --->
take the intake plumbing off the throttle body and touch the butterfly inside or watch the linkage on the side, now the other person pushes the pedal down and the butterfly should move immediatley.
While you're at it depress the throttle all the way to the floor then make sure the butterfly is 100% open, or do this with the linkage on the throttle body its probably easier on EB-ED as you cant really see the butterfly. If you can move the linkage /butterfly further your cable has stretched and your not get W.O.T when you jam the pedal to the floor
it is possible the wire cable is sliding inside the plastic sheath causing the delay, just check it all out
Yes it is common problem Im had it iin ea and eb falcon.Open your bonnet andcheck the cable visibly to the throttle lever for frays. If not get a torch and check your accelerator pedal under your dash. The cable is connected to it.
The cables in the ea/d have a tendancy to stretch, you will find that if you where to measure your cable against a new one the old one will be longer.
They cost about $40 from Ford.
yer there is a fray next to the clip on top of the rocket cover

Hey that car looks awfully familiar...you don't happen to work with me do ya!? (...well...if not, i've made quite the fool of myself...)
Yeh my mates EA had a frayed throttle cable shield, and a worn ball joint (green bit on the end). Replacing the cable literally doubled peformance....(...not that 'performance' can be quantified...but you know what i mean)
