I'm utterly surprised no one has mentioned this yet.
The latest Performanc Ford mag has an ad from a mob based in Dandenong, Vic. called Turbo Systems Australia selling, you guessed it, turbo kits! From $4995, these kits suit EF-AU Ford 6 cyls, and are supposedly complete, bolt-in kits with hand-made tuned length exhaust manifolds.
More kits coming soon, but for those keen of a turbo-six, a option on your current EF-EL?
say, im new to the whole turbo thing (still learning about it all) but, is it possible to turbocharge an old school falcon six? say a pre-crossflow 250? > any ideas or suggestions would interest me greatly
get NOS!!!! you can get the little soda stream bulbs with Nitrous Oxide in them....give that a burl!
ýou'll probably need to up the final ratio to get that speed up....hahaha you might hit like 90km/h with NOS!!!!
im acctually working on a supercharger at work in my spare time for it, a centrifugal type. with a drive of around 1:6 will give the impellor 42000rpm at 7000rpm. hope it works i dunno yet lol.
for now ill pour some model fuel in it which is methanol with 15% nitromethane!
i'd suggest get a manifold made up (600-900 bucks) to suit a t4 if its a 250 if its a 200 or smaller a t3 will be fine.
run the turbo very low (down to just above the sump) run a fmic that has the core going verticaly (airflow goes from top to bottom).
run ur standard log head intake manifold and just put a boost pipe to the carby and make it blow thru set up.
altenatively you can make it a suck thru carby setup (dosnt require a cooler) and then run a short boost pipe into the standard inlet manifold.
3rd option is to make both custom intake and exhaust manifolds run efi as well and a fmic
4th option would be to transplant a ohc engine into the bay and turbo that.
