got a ford xf sedan was drivin home tonight on the highway doin 120km/h then the engine started loosin power and the car became very rough to drive. first off i thought i had a flat tyre as that is what the noise sounded like drivin along. pulled over on highway left car runnin but was runnin rough as guts and makin this horrible noise. has a loud noise comming from front of motor as to what i can hear. please dont tell me its main bearing noie as i only had this motor put in last week.

What kinda horrible noise? Was the new engine running fine when you put it in? Humming, thumping, whining, rattling?

What was your oil pressure like? Are you sure it hasn't just dropped a cylinder from a dud sparkplug/lead?

Is the noise a knocking noise?

found the problem just took me tappit cover out found 1 bent push rod and 1 push rod not connecting to tappit rocker. oil definitly getting to all areas . Motor Now fixed. did it meself. motor is once again quiet

if it continues to turf the push rod out and bend it it could be a worn cam shaft, crank it over with rocker cover off and look at rockers if some arnt opening as much as they should there is ya problem
