Water pump

I believe y pump may have packed it in. The other day my cr suddenly started losing mega loads of coolant, pooped the bonnet and it was coming from under where the pump is located.

Im not sure if its the pump or a gasket. how hard is it to get to the pump and change it and/or the gaskets? Im pretty sure it isnt the pipings.

Re: Water pump

i haven't changed a OHC motors water pump but from you're info i'd guess it would be the pump.
they have a hole under them(theres a reason but i never bothered to remember) anyway when the seal inside goes it leaks water out of this hole
if you're gunna do it yourself the biggest pain is getting the clutch fan off(it has a left hand thread[undoes the wrong way] very big spanner needed)

probably wont need to fix that for another 10 years at least.
your list of things gone wrong has got nothing compared to the XF i got about 12 moths ago and still drive occasionally
i'll tell you whats good about it the rest is no good: shell has no rust and straight, new brakes, doesn't leak when it rains(my XE ute does) thats about all i can think of that is GOOD

Re: Water pump

Theres more wrong to my car then mentioned there, oil leaks, strange noises, tailgate(boot) not closing properly, and mine does leak when it rains. Only good things, the AC works and the velour is comfy.
