Water Pump NL Fairlane

My Ford dealer told me I have a leak in the water pump and a split in the radiator. I haven't seen any loss of coolant. The car has done 120000kms, what is the life expectancy of these parts?
Quote is $480 to replace water pump and exchange radiator. Apart from this query, no concerns with my Ford dealer. Thanks

Re: Water Pump NL Fairlane

Life expectancy is a hell of a lot longer than that.
The price doesn't look TOO bad, I would get a second opinion though if I was you....

Re: Water Pump NL Fairlane

MongrelEB went to the Ford dealer for an explanation, this morning "When tested to 120kpa, the rear seal of the water pump leaks and coolant leaks out from radiator tank. Not immediate repair but needs to be kept an eye on."

I would replace them as soon as possible...dont want to let down on maintenance of the cooling system...$480 (get a 2nd quote as MongrelEB said too) isint much to spend compared on repairs once the engine cooks istelf..

I replace my thermostat/coolant yearly...and pressure test/flush radiator also..

My 2 Cents
