A funny rattling noise seems to be coming up most times I go through second gear, it sounds like something loose in the middle muffler but it's odd as it is only coming up going through second, not through any other gears at this rev range. It will only come up when I go through gears, not down them, and it last for about 3 seconds when exceleraring... not a gearbox issue hopefully???
Does it sound like its coming from the base of the gearstick?
I have the same problem, mine is the Bush at the base of the gear stick, needs replacing.
Yeah I wouldn't say it was coming from there, it doesn't actually make a lot of noise in the cabin.. It's more outside underneath but where and what I'm not sure...
i'm having the same issue with my EA I am going to take it out today and gut it. Mine started out the same as u only comming down in second and got worse. i think this is becasue the exhaust flow in 2nd is enough to make it rattle. Try gut your cat if it goes away that is your problem if it doesnt well u willl have a empty cat.
Gutting the cat may change the sound, but you will more than likely loose performance.
