For the compression test, and given the k's on your car, do a wet and dry compression test. Like this.
All plugs out, ground out common HT lead. Engine hot. Have a helper, besides cranking on command for you, hold accelerator to the floor whilst taking all readings. Take and record a set of "dry" figures for all cylinders. Then squirt 4 or 5 pumps of oil into each plug hole. Spin engine on the starter to distribute the oil on the bores and rings. Take another set of readings exactly as before. If you find an increase in compressions with the "wet" figures, it would tend to indicate your rings are getting tired. Probably not what you would want to hear, though!
