Heard that those steel gasket in AU is far superior to those used on EA, will they fit on a EA 3.9L? how do they compared to ACL monotorque gaskets?

I'm trying to ask the dealer to replace my head gasket before it goes wrong...............

dunno, but i am running a au head with a ea gasket with a ef block here, so i i'd say yes.

I dont no for sure, but i would lean towards yes. I do know that an AU head will bolt on to a EF engine and i know a EF head will bolt on to a EA. So if the heads are bolt on, thenn the gasket should also have no problems.

Please correct me if im wrong.

Don't worry about replacing it until it actually goes. I mean, it's not imperative to take precautionary measures with a headgasket. Unless they blow really bad, and water is pouring out the side, you can usually drive with them fubar for a while..

yeah the head gasket will fit cause all the heads gaskets from ea-au are almost the same

The AU head gaskets are thinner, and as a result will increase your compression slightly. But yes they'll fit.

Nah, I've just got the car and wanna make sure the gasket isn't blown or going to blow, coz I can ask the dealer to fix that if necessary.

BTW, just some observation, I found out that coolant will burst out of the overflow bottle if the cap is opened and I rev up the engine. Is it normal or I should get a pro to have a look?

Sounds like exhaust gasses leaking into the cooling system? Only if its doing it a lot - its normal to see a small of a rise as the water pump spins faster.

A mechanic can put in some sort of additive to see if theres exhaust gasses getting into the cooling system - worth checking out.

Just an extra question, how much water rise should be see as normal?

If it shoots straight up, you have a problem :)
If it just overflows gently, this would be about right.
