im in the planning on working my 250 x- flow in my xe! ive got a 2.5inch exhaust with extractors! and going to put a stage 3 cam, c.o.m.e racing head (dunno which one yet) and a 465cfm holley with redline manafold and then a dyno tune! how much power do u expect to get out of it? id be happy with 140rwkw..... or do u think it would be better to buy a 351c and wack that in but i do havta drive 100km+ a day so i still want some economy thats y im hesatating on the v8!

I did the exact same thing on my XF, it was a 4 speed manual.
I put on the stage 3 COME head, their CLH-219 cam, redline intake manifold and 465 holley. I needed the dizzy to be regraphed to suit as well.

It put out high 140's on the dyno. I thought it went pretty well. It would beat VT 6 cy;linders, VN SS's etc.

10 months later I put in a 351 with an auto, it shat all over the 6 cylinder.

Surprisingly fuel economy was better with the 8 as well.

Go the 351 mate, you wont regret it.

hey again! mmm ive thought about turbo 250 but its alot of money and injection and computers and cooler and all that and i cant do alot of it my self! wowzars better econemy with the 8! i hate sixes they never sound as good as an 8! how much are gettin out of a tank id be happy to get 300kms

I sold that car ages ago. I was getting around 250km to a tank. But it was too hard to drive nice.

I agree with xf6250 if you keep the 6 turbo it. I now drive a turbocharged EB falcon and it would kill my old 351. More torque, more power and it can still get 500km's to a tank when driven sedately. My engine is still dead standard as well.
