Got My new AU Ghia VCT about 2 weeks ago. wats the deal with working the VCT. can u have exhausts, extractors, etc? i've heard they ain't the best for modding.

whats the best way to get power out of these engines.

It would appear that the VCT engines need a piggy back ECU.
JMM seem to know quite a bit about them and offer several packages with guaranteed power increases.

Soxx is right, talk to JMM, they are the only ones who understand the engine. They will be doing all the work on mine.

Also, a chip is a must! Even stock the car reacts VERY well to a chip.

By what ive heard from a couple of reliable sources the JMM VCT kits are very good.

Had a look at those kits. they look fair. might have to look into them. its hard to find anyone who's good at working he VCT.

Actually, its close to impossible.
Heres a few tips for you.
1. get the intake sorted, cost SFA and is an improvement - go to the workshop in aufalcon.com, theres a few choices there.
2. Exhaust is the biggest problem. Not all extractors work. Only 3 that seem to have any affect are the JMM scavengers, JMM race series and the Genies. If you do go for another set make sure they have the narrower pipes....but I wouldnt recommend it.
3. The ECU in any VCT engine is not very well setup from the factory. They run rich and have a horrible power curve. Get an aftermarket chip setup and you will notice a huge difference.

yeah sweet. you got a chip? my car alright once it gets over about 40kh. sluggish of the line though.
