Hey Guys,

Well my XF engine is getting old, worn and tired! With almost 300,000kms on it...i think its time for a freshen up!

How much would it be if i took my car somwhere and told them to fit an exchange reconditioned engine?? Is this the best option? as the motor currently uses coolant and has oil leaks/consumption..and the timing chain rattles a bit...so id rather do it all in one hit than fix each thing one at a time...

How about if i got my existing engine reconditioned?? is there any benifit to that or should i just opt for a complete changover?

The transmission/body/electrics of the car are all in good nick...so i think its worth getting a new engine for her! :-)

Its a 250 Carby Unleaded by the way...

another 2nd hand engine with 3 months warranty will set you back around $400 not including fitting. from a wrecker.
