Hey Guys,

I have a XF 4.1L Carby Unleaded Auto and recently ive been driving it a bit more often (before i used to just drive on the weekends). On my just weekend driving it used about $20 a week.. Now...it went through about $40 of petrol in 2/3 days...and this was just around the city driving...maybe about 2 hours of driving each of the day twice...but in traffic mostly....is that sort of consumption normal?? Ive been refilling the tank when it gets to 1/4 on the guage (up to the small green blocks on the digital guage).

How much petrol do you XF owners go through in a week??

have you been keeping records of how many k's you drive between fillups? just reset the trip meter each time. its what i do. just for interest...

I use to get 300-350... 360 if really light footed. And that was in a manual...

My old carby auto XF got around 400 kays / 55L around town, and my best recorded usage on the freeway was 600kays / 55L.

I dont have a light foot either. :s6:

dunno about carby but my 3 speed auto XF-S has the 80 L tank and i get about 500kms per tank. thats mainly city driving and i dont drive like an old man!

I have an XF EFI 4spd with an 80L tank, I generally get 430-450km to a tank in city driving, going to Bathurst last year, I got 600km from full to when the red lights start flashing, and that's about another 100km to go. That was sitting on 120-130 the whole way.

I had an XF 3.3 ltr 4 speed = 460km from 60 ltr tank.

Also have an XE 4.1 ltr 4 speed = 360km from 60 ltr tank (used to get more running leaded super)

XA Fairmont 250ci Auto = 400km from 75.6ltr tank. (with light foot)

In my Carby Leaded XF i get around 350 using optimax or premium. Definately not light footed though cos im still enjoying the sound of my exhaust a month later. But yesterday i filled up and added some octance booster stuff and i am at 100 and havent even passed the full markings on the guage yet..

XF unleaded std weber 5 speed 2.92 diff, used to get 23mile/gal sitting on 100, but only went down to 20mile/gal sitting on 100.
