XF Lifetime Parts Warranty

Just noticed that my muffler and resonator on my 86 XF (post ADR37) has justed started getting noisy and has a leak in the front muffler.

Anyway, checked back on my receipts and noted that I had it replaced in 1996 by Ford and it has a "Lifetime Parts Warranty" on that item, as they used to do back then.

Question is, do you think they will Honour it and does it include labour and materials or just the part. If it is just the supply of the part will they give me the part to fit it myself or will they insist on it being fitted by Ford?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I very much doubt it would be a warrenty job walkers australia (they make all the aftermarket exhausts used by OEM dealers as well as the normal OEM stuff) would never have more than 3 years warrenty on that because it's mild steel and prone to rust.

Breathe! It's only the internet....

Back when I had an XD, I got a few parts with the lifetime warranty. After Ford stopped giving them out (probably lost too much money!), I asked them whether they would honour existing lifetime warranties, and the answer was most definitely yes.

In my opinion, a warranty is a warranty, so if you have the receipt, take it in and try to claim it! Costs nothing to ask.

best of luck
