I have '94 XG with 4.0. After sitting at idle for a while it starts to run rough and nearly stalls unless I knock it into neutral. Takes a couple of minutes for it to happen

Is there an idle adjustment on the air flow meter on an XG or do I have to have the computer set?

well my EA sorta does the same thing, when next empty put in half a tank of premium and see if it does it, if not then I suspect injectors, it shouldnt actualy stall as the ISC will prevent it (well should).

Remove the throtle intake hose and remove all the carbon build up around the butterfly.....works everytime.
