xh snorkel (yet again)

i know the snorkel has to be cut down to fit an xg 6 right.... but wen i match it up in the car, it looks like the intake is gonna come out directly behind the bonnet latch..... has anyone

so i was wondering if this would affect things...

was tossing up whether i should chop the main snorkel section instead, and shortening, then placky welding the pipe back together, which would move the end of the snorkel back towards the left slightly, though not by that much.

also, i read on a thread here about someone cutting out the twin pipey section at the bottom of the snorkel and making a back to it, to make it into one bg pipe, instead of two smaller ones. the job looked alittle dodgy though, thought i saw tape involved now if i did it i'd be looking at again plastic welding, but was just wondering if there would be any advantages in this. Has anyone actually done this, and seen any positive results? it does seem like more work than shoud be necessary.

also, on a different note, alot of people have mentioned getting an ea induction pipe fro the air box to the throttle body, due to it being larger, is there alot of gain in this, and do ford stock this item? or will i have to go crwling around the wreckers again?
